Default A Title For The Older Players?

Hey. I've been thinking if possibly they could be a title for ACCOUNT AGE.

Say, at 5 months old you have a certain title, at 10 months you get a higher up title, at 15 even better, and 20 (when it comes) even better, and so on and on.

This would be a great way to reward long time players who have been faithfull to the game.

I wouldn't suggest attaching the titles to characters age, as alot of people have remade there characters from time to time, or made room for new ones or pvp ones.

Please can I get your guys ideas + comments

Thanks
Ashleigh

That would be a kinda cool way to show off if you've been here since the beginning. But it wouldn't really hold any prestige as a title as you don't actually do anything to earn it, it would just indicate age. Personally, three campaigns down the line I'll still be showing off my seniority with Divine Aura .

Smacks of elitism, no way. How is someone who just heard about and bought the game any less "faithful" than you ?

rofl. This is like I have 1000 hours over 10 months versus I have 100 hours in one month. Same craziness, but no title.

In short, it doesn't prove you're a devotee. It just shows how fast you jumped on the non-bandwagon game.

Someone could have bought the game, left it and came back. That's not devotion...

So someone would be dumb enough to go AFK all day on the game they like to play for a good 5 months just so they can display a title afterwards, in which case they'd of maybe lost faith/interest? Lol it'd be awesome to meet someone who did that.

I don't like the idea of a title that some people can't get. Who is to say that a 12 month old character is any better or has achieved more than a 4 month old character? Some people pick things up very fast, some people play hardly at all. It doesn't indicate achieving anything, and tells you nothing about what that person has done. Drunkard shows they've spent a lot of money on ale and spent a lot of time drunk. Grandmaster Cartographer shows they've spent ages going into every corner of the map and have uncovered it all. Having the game for 12 months proves nothing, they might have been away for 6 of those months (like I was).

And like I said right at the start, I don't like a title that someone can't get by their actions in game. You basically want a "has a minipet" title, since those can be bought.

It's based on when you created your account, you wouldn't even need to be logged in.

Personally i dont mind it but its not really a "reward" because honestly who cares if some1 has played for 5 months or if somebody has played for 10 months? personally i dont care, i know people who have played for 5 - 10 motnhs usually people who have played for longer arnt necessarily the better player.

Hehe- If only chimeric prsyms were "showable" in trade. (I don't mean they should be allowed to be traded, just so players can view stats and looks )

I said nothing about people been better. It's just merely a way of been able to tell who the older people are.

Would it make it better if it was character based? Based on time "existed" not time played?(But as I said people have previously remade characters)

I care. It really annoys me when people get "newb" and "noob" mixed up. The only way I can proove im an older player is by showing my chimeric prysm, which isn't even showable apart from on the character outside outposts.

It's not to show you have achieved anything, it's just to SHOW you have had this game for a certain period of time.

And IMO minipets are junk. They'd actually be quite good if no random person could buy one for as cheap as 10k.

This begs the question, why would you want to show you've been playing the game for a certain period of time ? Please give me a reason that isn't "haha lol this char is older than yours". Every other title displays some sort of achievement, no matter what those are worth in the eyes of players. Any kind of exclusivity based on age is totally /unsigned IMHO.

That's precisely the reason they're ok.

Well I'd like one just as a sign to show others that i've been with this game since the start, or atleast bought it before/upon release.

I bet'ya most the people who disagree with this are those who's account isnt 16months old.

Ashleigh.

You didn't really answer, what possible joy could it bring you to show the time you have played GuildWars ? Why should such a sign exist ?

And you've struck the heart of the problem with your own post. What kind of an attitude is this ? I don't know whether you mean to or not, but this line makes you sound like you are full of yourself for being an "old" and "faithful" player. A meaningless title that adds nothing more than a sense of superiority for absolutely no effort is wrong isn't it ?
